Social events designed to attract new members while also giving YPs an opportunity to gather in a social environment, these events are usually hosted in new and up-and-coming businesses within the community.

Servant Leadership

Meets the second Tuesday of every month at various locations.

The mission of the Servant Leadership Committee is to give back to the community. This committee will encourage and facilitate community service in the local community. Focus will be on connecting YPs to local projects and non-profit entities that need volunteers and facilitate the creation of more qualified young volunteer leaders for board service.

Get on Boards

A four-part leadership series, designed to prepare Young Professionals to be leaders within the community and be better prepared to serve on boards within the community if and when called upon.

Stuff the Bus (in collaboration with United Way)

Assist the United Way in its efforts to host a school supply drive, by coordinating volunteers and other needs that may arise.

Leadership & Career Development

Meets the third Tuesday of every month at various locations.

The mission of the Career & Leadership Development is to provide YPs with exceptional leadership learning opportunities and recognize YPs for exceptional leadership and service in the community. This committee facilitates participation in unique career development opportunities outside of the workplace. It is also the goal of this committee to expose area business to talented YPs and vice versa.

Learn on the Go

A lunch series featuring a community leader who speaks on various leadership topics to provide YPs with the resources needed for career and personal growth.

Social Engagement

Meets on the first Wednesday of every month at rotating locations.

The mission of the Social Engagement Committee is to create relational and social value for YP membership. By partnering with existing organizations in the community, this committee will support the cultural and artistic resources in the community.

Connect Columbus

Opportunity for YPs to unite within the community, this event is dedicated to helping YPs find the “to do” in the Columbus region. This event offers YPs unique opportunities to connect with members of the YP program, as well as various social, civic and recreational groups.

Uptown Scream on the Green

An outdoor movie free and open to the public, this is the largest YP event of the year. NEW this year, we will be partnering with Uptown’s Friday night concert series.

A way to end the year with our YP Friends, we will incorporate some type of service aspect to give back to the community in honor of the holidays.

Governmental Affairs

Meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Cannon Brew Pub.

The mission of the Governmental Affairs committee is to educate YP members about the political process and critical local and regional issues. The goal is to enhance awareness and engage YP members by promoting active dialogue among YP members, political candidates, and public officials. YP does not support specific political parties or groups.

A half-day seminar where Young Professionals can hear from elected officials on what it takes to run for office, the ins and outs of running a campaign, etc.
